China and Hongkong conflict......?
Ok, I'm a high school student. A school representative election is underway, one of the nominees is a Mandarin chinese boy (a nice guy really), but this person that I know who is cantonese (hongkong). He's somewhat really upset, it's like he hates china(mainland). He says all these things about china is communists and if the madarin boy wins the election it would be like chairman Mao back in WWII in china. And all these things about he likes england and freedom blah blah and how Mainland China are bunch of sh*t. This is really start to annoy me now as I'm a mainland chinese, I don't really care much about all this, but any suggestions to deal with this??? *Plus this hong kong cantonese person runs around school, posting things on facebook saying bad things about china and stuff.....I'm not saying Im up set, but it's really bugging me out.

Mandarin is a language. There is no such thing as a Mandarin boy. Mandarin speaking boy, maybe. Similarly, Cantonese can refer to the language or to the people from Guangzhou. A Cantonese Hong Kong person makes no sense. Again, you can say a Cantonese speaking person from HK.

if it's bugging u so much, you could kick his @ss . . . but for what reason? just because he said somethin u don't like? yur image would drop pretty low & kids wouldn't like you. you just have to accept there are people in hong kong & the world who are bltches. after being a british colony, there are cantonese who love being britain's gimp and feel having britain rule over HK would be better than self rule & independence just call him a "british dog," i bet most kids at school would agree - without violent commies storming the british embassy and making brits kneel on glass and bltch slap them across the face, you think the British would give back HK willingly? - second, you should feel proud mainland china doesn't hold stupid elections. here in the US, politicians are poor, so they have to beg corporations and bankers to give them money to run for election and pay the media to run their commericals. after they win, they have to repay their debts to capitalists democratic government are just puppet gov'ts. china gives tax rebates to it's lower class citizens. canada and the US has to bail out bankers on wall street bottom line, if democracy is so successful? why is india so f**ked up even when they had a 60 year head start on democracy? - if that guy likes england so much, tell him to go to england and wear a kilt like the gay scots anyway, happy 60 year anniversary.
