What do you think of the recent uproar in Hong Kong about classifying the bible as "indecent"?

hey it's only fair. if it was any book other than the bible that contained all the killing and sex and whatnot, it would be banned in a heartbeat.

Well, it's definitely the most profane book anywhere near my house. It's got more killing than all of my horror flicks combined, and more sex than all of my wife's chick flicks too. Not regular sex... nasty, get down with your sleeping relative sex. Sex with your neighbors wife. Sex with brothers and sisters, brother's wives, and virgins that you took prisoner and made into servants/slaves. I haven't even gotten to that Jesus fella telling you to take up a sword for him, cut off your own body parts, and hate everyone and everything on earth. This is easily the most disgusting book anyone has ever brought home and shared with their family.

If Hollywood made a movie based on the bible today, it would seriously get an NC-17. They'd get Eli Roth, Takashi Miike or Wes Craven to direct it. Seriously!

The Bible does mention many incidents of sin in it's pages. It was given to show man the error of his ways and the price for making those errors. It's purpose was to enlighten, however, not be indecent, and therein is the difference.

I seriously hope that they succeed, and jail the priests as purveyors of smut.

China is thinking of banning Christians from the Olympics. They do not like the criticism of limiting people to only 1 child and aborting the rest so they are putting priests and Bishops in prison faster than anything. They are afraid people will protest in the streets.
