Can I enter and leave Hong Kong & China with two different passports?

Can I enter and leave Hong Kong & China with two different passports?
I am a dual citizen of USA and Australia. I am currently in Hong Kong on a student visa with my US passport. I was wondering if I can exit Hong Kong (using my US, of course), and then enter China with my Australian passport. Then when I return, I would exit China on my Australian, and then reenter Hong Kong on my US passport. Is this situation possible at all?

Even though China and Hong Kong are part of the same country, they currently have different administrative procedures. Yes, you can enter/exit Hong Kong on one passport and enter/exit China on another. The border stations are not linked to each other to determine who is doing what under what passport. EDIT: Special note to Shimmy . . . because a visa for a United States citizen is significantly more expensive than visas for citizens from other countries, it is not uncommon at all for those with recognized dual citizenship to use different passports for different travel purposes. It's one of the benefits of having dual citizenship. There is nothing illegal, immoral or even evasive about the process.

Of course, yes. Good idea. Use your multiple passports to evade authorities in China. The Chinese police will never catch you because you are so smart. I respect your bravery.
4 :

Can I go to Hong Kong from Guangzhou and back with just a Chinese Student Visa?

Can I go to Hong Kong from Guangzhou and back with just a Chinese Student Visa?
I heard from someone that if I leave Guangzhou to get to HK, I can't go back to Guangzhou cuz "once you leave mainland for HK, your visa automatically expires". Is this true??

There are really two questions here: what travel document is required for you to enter HK and what is needed to return to China. 1) HK allows citizens from many countries to visit for up to 90 days by merely presenting their valid passport. 2) China requires a valid Chinese visa affixed to a valid passport for entry. Student visas are issued for the sole purpose of study, not travel. Most student visas are either zero or single entry, depending upon whether they were issued inside or outside of China. Without a valid re-entry available on your visa, you may not re-enter China with that document.
2 :
Yes, it's true. Unless you have a residence permit or a multi entry visa, you cannot re-enter mainland China without getting a new visa.
3 :
Hong Kong and the Mainland are under 2 totally different sets of immigration rules, under the 1-country-2-systems. Please check your Mainland visa whether it allows multiple entry or not. If not, you're only admitted into the Mainland once, right after you depart, you're unable to re-enter.

Are there any schools in Hong Kong that teach in Mandarin?

Are there any schools in Hong Kong that teach in Mandarin?
I decided I wanted to become a foreign exchange student to Hong Kong, and I am learning Mandarin. Then I read somewhere that in schools, they teach in Cantonese. I will be a junior in high school. Are there any schools that teach in Mandarin?

I lived there for 25 years and taught in local and international schools. Most local schools do not accept foreign exchange students. They are overcrowded and teach mostly in Cantonese, which is the southern Chinese dialect. Contact the Chinese International School. I dont know if they take foreign exchange students, but they might be open to the idea. They do an IB diploma and all students are required to take Mandarin. Otherwise, you might check out programs in Shanghai or Beijing.

Cost of living for a student per annum in Hong Kong?

Cost of living for a student per annum in Hong Kong?
I plan to live near the Baptist University, I don't club, I need a room, with basic necessities and internet connection. I'm an undergraduate student Thank you. Let's say I take the medium room (not too lousy, not too premium) I look like Chinese but my friends say I don't.. maybe its because of my hairstyle haha. Anyway, Baptist Uni has the same offshore Australian undergraduate course that I'm taking now in Malaysia.
