Univerisities in Hong Kong Tour Advices? Design Studios Visits?
Hi, everyone, it's not my first time in Hong Kong, but I have never visited any universities here yet, I'd like to check some these days. Any advices on where to go, how to go there or... any fun facts I need to know before about them? btw, as far as an architecture student (as i am) concerned, it possible to visit some design studios of Architecture Faculty?... last but not the least, any one interested in this campus tour please contact me? or I will probably just go there all myself, it would be nice to have a company! Thanks a lot!

Which University, UNT or Hong Kong?
Which University, UNT or Hong Kong?
I'm currently trying to deceide which of these universities I want to go to. I'm a British student hoping to study a year abroad and these are my options, as well as possibly the national university of Singapore which I recon is pretty similar to Hong Kong. I think I would have a better time at UNT i.e. more fun but would I learn much? and I'm pretty sure it would'nt look very good on my CV. Hong Kong on the other hand is ranked #24 university in the world and so would look fantastic, but I'm not sure it would be as much fun, although I don't actually know much about it. Any help?

got to have the cake and eat it too. we have to decide which we want. fun or great resume. we can have both. UNT is not a lousy univ. just as good. we learn something in everything. fun is something u can make yourself, how to interact in class, with faculty, friends etc. so its up to u. www.virtuesproject.com will help u choose

Could be a good idea to go in Hong Kong to study or work as dentist? (i try again...)?
Could be a good idea to go in Hong Kong to study or work as dentist? (i try again...)?
Hi everyone, I'm italian and in 3 years I will finish the dentistry university in italy. While i'm studyng i'm trying to plan a useful student excange with a foreign country. My english is bad, so here in Italy i'm having lessons to take a certification like trinity or cambridge, then next year i want to go to London for a few months to improve it. but i really like orient and i hope to go working there. I've been in Shanghai, Pechino, Hong Kong and Seul and i like it but i'm trying to find the place with the most advanced technologies in dentistry. So, can someone tell me something about dentistry in Hong Kong? informations about the level of the university, the requirements to study there (if my qualification in dentistry is valid there), the chance to find job and if dentist in Hong Kong is a good job or not. I've already asked it about japan but everyone told me that i should learn a fluent japanese an this one may be a problem, so to solve the problem of the language i've thought about hong kong. i know that the dental university of hong kong is in the top 40 of the world, and there, once i'll know a good english, shouldn't be any problem to get a job (or maybe the same problems of the other countries)...or not? p.s. for me it's a serious decision, i have to plan the request, the documentation, the money, explain to my professors a concrete and clear idea, so please ( like the guys who answered my previous question, i thanks them) don't tell me misunderstanding things. i know that i've to take official information at university or to the ministry but before i have to decide where to go, asking to who has already been there or know something sure.. Thank you

As dentists and doctors, you really need to know the local language. It is because even though many people could speak English everywhere, almost no average citizen would know enough medical terms in English to communicate their symptoms or treatment thoroughly and comfortably unless it's their native language, no one wants any misunderstanding when it comes to curing a sickness. When you're sick how would you like to see a doctor who speak no Italian and only some broken English. Unless you're satisfied to be teaching and doing research only.
2 :
English is a secondary language in Hong Kong. Over 99% of Hong Kong residents speak Cantonese (regional dialect of southern China) as their first language. If you want to work in Hong Kong, then you absolutely must be fluent in Cantonese. You must also be able to read and write Mandarin (national standard language of China) since all documents will be in that language.
