The Anne Black - YWCA, Hong Kong?

The Anne Black - YWCA, Hong Kong?
It's a cheap hotel, located in on Man Fuk Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Just want to know if it's actually a good enough hotel for a student, who is going to stay there for only 4-5 days? Is the district safe? If not, are there any other cheap hotels?

All of Hong Kong is extremely safe. There are no guns in Hong Kong, very little violent crime, and virtually no illegal drugs. The overall crime rate in Hong Kong, as in many east Asian cities, is 90% lower than in American cities. Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong are all the same -- you can walk down any of their streets at midnight and no one will bother you. Here are reviews of the Anne Black Hotel from people who actually stayed there. (see weblink)

Kowloon is pretty crowded but nonetheless safe and plenty of places to go and visit. I usually stay at hostels in Kowloon and "most" of the times I've been there, I didn't have much problems. Contrary to BSherman's post, there will be people bothering you and offering you such things as KTV, and something else that sounds quite strange to me. Just politely decline to be safe, if you show slightest interest in their offers, they will not leave you alone. In my opinion, of all the cities, Singapore is the cleanest and safest, they have public caning and death penalty of hanging by the neck. Rules there are far stricter than anywhere I've been. Girls are able to freely walk the streets outside during midnight and not fear anything.
