The Oscars in Hong Kong?

The Oscars in Hong Kong?
I'm an American exchange student in Hong Kong and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a place to watch the Academy Awards in Hong Kong, particularly around Kowloon. I know it would be super early in the morning, but I haven't missed the oscars in a long time.

It ought to be broadcasted live in some of the TV stations like TVB Pearl or Cable TV. You could also check with Hong Kong's American Chamber of Commerce which usually will hold events broadcasted live from the US. Good Luck!

I am looking for a advertisement from Hong Kong.?

I am looking for a advertisement from Hong Kong.?
I have a project and part of the assignment is to find a advertisement from the country I selected. Does anyone know any from Hong Kong? Here is the assignment: The student identifies one advertisement on the Internet from a company from his/her country. For example, if the student is researching Panama, s/he goes to a newspaper, in this case I selected the Siglo Newspaper, and the student selects an advertisement according to his/her interest. Thank you in advance!

For Hong Kong, there are two localised newspaper that you can go to their website for your project. They are South China Morning Post and The Standard. There are few more others, but mostly in Mandarin or Cantonese.

Unfortunately there is a big supply of "English teachers" in Hong Kong. So I somewhat doubt that someone simply wants to hire you. It is of course also a question of your own qualifications. That being said, it is certainly possible to find a job teaching English but it most certainly takes an a bit more pro-active approach. One option would be to check the many websites etc. that were created as a platform for people like you offering their skills, but I can tell you from experience, that you will not find a stable supply of work there. You could check Jobsdb.com, they are often looking for English teachers there. Or other similar websites of course. However, what has worked best for me was to use the local supermarket boards to advertise teaching services (mind you its been a long time since i have done that though). Its a free way to advertise yourself all over Hong Kong (of course u gotta visit each store etc). There are alot more ways, but without knowing your background, I would stick to that for now.

Tokyo or Hong Kong for university in english?

Tokyo or Hong Kong for university in english?
I would like to spend some time in an Asian metropolis, and would like to do some schooling while I am there. I narrowed my options down to either Hong Kong or Tokyo. I find both appealing, realize that both are costly, and understand that both a likely totally different. I enjoy the tall buildings of Hong Kong and the ultra-modernization of Tokyo. Which city would you suggest for an open minded, english speaking student?

Temple University has a campus in Tokyo Japan. It is taught fully in English. http://www.tuj.ac.jp/default.html

Hong Kong should be a better choice because this city used to be a British colony for over 100 years until 1997, English used to be the official language here until then. Most people at least speak some basic English and there are signages in English everywhere, all products come with English description and instructions. In Japan even in Tokyo, very few people really know English, most products only come with Japanese description.

Hi buddy. I would support longliveabcdefg. Hong Kong should be a better choice. Which is an easier path to Hong Kong?

Which is an easier path to Hong Kong?
I'm currently working in Manila and I was asked if I wanted to work in Vietnam. Being 23, I'd like to be independent. But I don't like to go to Vietnam because it's third world. My dream is to move to Hong Kong. I applied as a language student in Shanghai and was accepted. I am now contemplating whether to accept the Vietnam job or try my luck in Shanghai as a language student then look for a job in Shanghai which will eventually lead to me moving to hong kong.

If you're aiming at Hong Kong, you should consider going to Shanghai first. Hong Kong and Shanghai are both the biggest financial and commercial centers of China, there is a lot of activities between these 2 cities. Not knowing what kind of job is offered in Vietnam, you should also consider if this job could make you advance in your career significantly. Most jobs offered in Hong Kong are financial and services, is the job in Vietnam related to these fields?
2 :
Your context above have already got your question half answered. Going to Shanghai is one step closer to Hong Kong. That being said, HK is an extremely competitive market, the people are well known for working long hours, very persistent and diligent in their work attitudes. Additionally there's no lack of generalists in the city, to find an employer who is willing to take the extra mile to sponsor a foreign employee, he/she must pocess a special skill above all the right working attitudes. There's a will, there's a way, I wish you good luck!

hi, i think the more important issues at hand are the visa entries and time frame for that.... clarify with both sides. If i am not wrong, malaysians need visa to enter CHina (shenzhen leg). There is a question of the key focus of your visit there. social aspects? cultural? economic? There are travel agents who can help to tailor the trip and advise you on the management of time and places to visit. For HK, you can visit their tourist promotion official site. As for shenzhen, its basically their theme parks which are really nice. Alternatively, write to your counterparts in HK and Shenzhen, (they have depts which deal with foreign requests.) i suppose you are workign with them closely for the trip.... they will be able to let you know whether there is any time available outside the formal schedule to allocate time for some sightseeing.
