Excluded airfare, for 5 days, I think S$500 can do. For transport in HK, buy MTR(MRT) daily ticket known as tourist ticket cost HK$50 about S$10, no limit on MTR travel, for 24 hours, after that can keep ticket

hi ya, I'm from HK though i'm not familar with fashion design, I have a good frd who is a fashion design student. if you need any help or want my number any help let me know my msn is btw, welcome to HK

you didnt give us enough info to anser the Q. If you stay in kowloon at the mirador mansions it'll be about $20/night single, cheaper for doubles. Thats the cheapest possible in hk and the rooms arent great, but decent i guess. food is about 40-60HK$ average if you dont go to nice places like soho (except los tacos in soho, cheap and DELICIOUS mexican food! 15-20HK$/taco) Most foreign food is expensive. Noodles are cheap. Shopping is not cheap but i dont know much about buying fabrics, etc if you can take the bus from the airport (A21 I think) its only 33HK$ as opposed to the subway which costs WAY more. If you pay per trip its like 4HK$ for one stop on the subway, like 10 for two stops, though it might vary. From Kowloon to Lantau it was only 17 so i doubt it gets much more expensive than that. The deal the guy above mentioned might be good. I easily spent 500HK$ in one day with hotel, food, shopping, etc One more thing, always remember to bargain! start with at least 30% off any price they give
4 :
HK$3000

Usually the companies or agencies that sponsored your research sponsor your presentation. Sometimes the educational institutes have funds for sponsoring. You should meet or talk with your department head.

Anyone remember the name of this kung-fu movie with Bruce Lee lookalike?

Anyone remember the name of this kung-fu movie with Bruce Lee lookalike?
I saw it in late 80s-early 90s on VHS. Movie was more or less following standard hongkong kung-fu movie plot, except the main character was called Bruce Lee (but it definitely was not him, allthough the lookalike actor was very close match). Plot: A martial arts school of traditional Kung-fu style (where Bruce Lee is one of the teachers? - they call him "Bruce") in China is being bullied by nearby japanese karate school, with intent to get rid of competition. Of course lots of fighting happens, after which Bruce is the clear winner (thus his school prevails), and japanese school hires a master from japan that has some weird weapon, looking like a pair of cymbals, which he can use as shields and as throwing weapons as well. The japanese master assassinates Bruce's teacher - an old man leaving in the mountains (yet still pretty energetic for his age - he put up a major fight) and Bruce has a spectacular showdown with him after finishing beating the remaining japanese school students and teachers. Movie title might have had "Bruce Lee" in it (but since it was translated - I'm not sure - translated movie titles might be completely different from original) Possibly important is the detail I've remembered - that the japanese master-assassin was not dressed in Kimono outfit, but instead in a dark suit with a hat (very similar to what Oddjob was wearing in James Bond movie Goldfinger) No, its not "They Call me Bruce" or its sequel. But it did point me in the right direction to this page (about Bruce Lee clones): http://www.beijingvideo.com/clones.html

Are Filipinos really considered in US as Pacific Islanders and not Asians?

Are Filipinos really considered in US as Pacific Islanders and not Asians?
Don’t be fooled at once by the title of the entry. The story behind that statement excludes us. Last year, a friend left the Philippines and went to the United States. In his German class, the students were international. The professor asked who the Asians were and one by one the Asian students introduced themselves. And so it went, the Chinese, the Koreans, the Vietnamese, the Singaporeans etc. all raised their hands. Finally the professor calls this Filipino and asks, Professor: Where are you from? Filipino: Philippines Professor: Oh, Filipinos are not Asians! They are Pacific Islanders! Because ASIANS ARE SMART… In the United States, it is already being taught in schools that Filipinos are not Asians—that we are Pacific Islanders. While there is a lot of reaction against it, I am surprised that many intelligent Filipinos abroad have accepted this without question. Pacific Islands are places like Samoa, Hawaii, Tahiti, Guam, Cook Islands, Mariana Islands—and their common denominator? Most of them do not possess their own national and political identities—they are islands under the jurisdiction and protection of more powerful countries like USA, France and New Zealand. Most of these Pacific Islands are still referred to as “indigenous natives.” They have very, very small populations and they have no global role or power. While they have their own unique culture and characteristics, they do not hail from any great civilization in the past. Hindi sila lumaban at tumayo para sa sarili nilang lahi. What is even sad, however, is that even Pacific Islanders do not like and do not accept Filipinos! One good example are Hawaiian tourists we met in China. When they learned that we were Filipinos, they disgustingly uttered , “You eat Balot!” and avoided us like a plague. The statement of this American guy, filled with racism obviously merits strong disapproval. In fact, our friend was so angry after having been humiliated in front of the class. The logical thing to say, is that the Philippines IS part of the ASEAN group of nations. We can also say that Japan is an island in the Pacific Ocean but is not considered a Pacific Island. But we should ask—why would no one dare to call the Japanese people Pacific Islanders? Why pick on the Philippines? Simple. Because Japan has produced cars and we have produced dried mangoes and pastillas. The Philippines has been so left behind by Asian countries that foreigners shake their heads and ask, “What happened to your country?” Let us not even compare the Philippines with the four Tiger economies, ‘cuz they’re just way way way too far ahead. What about Vietnam and Thailand? I read that for every one Filipino who has a Master’s Degree, Vietnam has 6, Thailand has 25 and Singapore has 200. But why bother to be educated when the national dream is to go abroad? We are scattered from Hongkong to Kazakhstan, from Italy to even North Korea. Thousands of our doctors are becoming nurses. Our teachers become caregivers. Our women become entertainers and prostitutes. Our young people only know one course and that is nursing. Why would foreigners respect us when we do not even respect ourselves? We are the country of Gucci Gangs—our elite own Picassos and they simply have no heart to alleviate and educate the masses, as F. Sionil Jose and Brian Gorrell—the pitiful Australian guy who was robbed by DJ Montano—sadly pointed out. I am reminded of Condoleezza Rice, the first black woman to become the United States Secretary of State. She was born in Alabama and suffered discrimination on account of her color. But she was taught from a young age by her father, that she had to be “twice as good”and prove that she was deserving of advancement. Condoleezza Rice explains, “I was going to be so well prepared, and I was going to do all of these things that were revered in white society SO WELL, that I would be armored somehow from racism. I would be able to confront white society on its own terms.” (Washington Post, Lessons of Might and Right, How Segregation and an Indomitable Family Shaped National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, By Dale Russakoff, September 9, 2001) The only way to answer people, who insist that we are uncivilized tribes is not by shooting off our mouths. The only answer is to beat them by studying and working ten times harder than the rest—to beat them not just once or twice, but to do so consistently for the next 20,30, 40, 50 years. Unless we Filipinos are prepared to love our country, and sacrifice ourselves by doing the extra-mile, we really deserve to be called stupid. ~ Lipad-Lawin Source: http://www.thebrownraise.org

Most Filipinos I met are very nice peope (but not necessarily sharp/intelligent like the East Asians). Vietnamese in my opinion isn't that smart either. Koreans can be pretty dumb too. Once again, he can be classified as both I guess.

5 :
who cars really? people in this world are always trying to put a label on something
6 :
What does it matter? The Philippines is in Asia, therefore if you're Filipino you are Asian. It's pretty simple. Being smart or not has nothing to do with anything.
7 :
forgot to mention that Filipinos average the 2nd highest household income out of all asian groups in USA... 1st is Indians.
8 :
OK, first of all, expecting Americans to know the least little thing about geography is expecting way too much of them. I'm married to an African, from Ghana. I have encountered hundreds of people who think that Africa is a country, not a continent; several who've asked me if I went on a "safari" when I went to Africa, and whether or not my husband and kids speak "African" (there are 45 major languages in Ghana alone, not even looking at the other 55 countries on the continent). Anyway, the point is, most Americans are going to have a blank "What are you talking about" look when you try to discuss the Philippines. My doctor is from the Philippines. And I've had previous doctors from there. They are good doctors, esp. the one I have now. MY confusion about the Philippines has to do with a sort-of-Asian look to the people, but Spanish sounding names. And Tagalog doesn't seem to be a language like Chinese and Japanese, since it's written with Latin (Roman) characters. So from that perspective, I can see it being considered as a "Pacific Island" country as opposed to being a part of Asia.

how people divide the utility bill during holiday?

how people divide the utility bill during holiday?
Hi, I live a flat with 3 girls (including me, 4 girls) and one girl has been to her country during holiday for a month. Actually, also I wasn't in flat 3 weeks then. Now, we got the utility bill and we have to pay for it. I supposed that the bill should be divided just exactly by 4, but the girl who got back to her country insist she doesn't want to pay for a month. Even we weren't in flat, I think we have to pay for it. I wasn't in flat 3 weeks during the same tern with her, but I feel need to pay because we share the flat and utility is quite uncountable how much we use. (the other 2 girls also sometimes in flat, sometimes not in flat during same term.) What do you think everyone? Do you think her opinion is reasonable? I'd like to solve this problem happily for all. info, we are all students in UK and come from Hongkong, Korean, Greece, and Japan(me). Greece girl got back to her country during holiday.

well i think you should all chip in and pay your shares.. if it was a 200 dollar bill everyone pay 50 what ever it is you all pay a share of it.. you all wanted too share the flat in the beginning and im sure you all agreed on what you were gonna pay... even if no one was there its still a 4 way split that's how i think anyway.....if i left my moms house for a week and i pay her 75 dollars every week i would still give her the 75 dollars even if i wasn't there.. because we made that agreement im staying there ..if i had my own apartment and i left for 2 weeks i would still have to pay the electric company.. and my whole rent what i owe them just because its my bill....

Are asians most likely smarter than any other race?

Are asians most likely smarter than any other race?
Maybe not all asians..Most people here in America thinks that an "asian" have slanted eyes or etc..what about those russians? indians or cambodians..? But in this case, I will only concentrate my question to asian countries like " china, korea, vietnam, philippines, japan, taiwan,& hongkong. [yes there are alot of asian countries, but the countries I mentioned above are somewhat being typically referred as asians with slanted eyes, not most of them, but you know what I mean] I search over the net and I saw the US census bureau of 2007 related to household income and I found out Asian household lead the chart earning $60,000 up, followed by white= $40,000 or more, then by hispanics and black. as a 15 year old student, I found it easy here in the US when we moved here coz' they only have 4 blocks of classes in the whole day while in the philippines, we do have 9 to 12 blocks. Not all asians are smart, yes there are criminals and etc, but generally in school, are they smart?

Yes SOME are very smart I'm pretty sure somebody is going to give you slack for stereotyping but it is true and if anything it's a nice stereotype that can be backed up by the everyday world
2 :
No, this question is extremely stereotypical by made noneless than a media influenced american. Asian study hard because they have to, or they wouldn't be able to live in America where racism and stereotype flourishes. Asians study hard mainly because of their culture, if you bring a 1 yearold Asian child to america, He will not do as great as of those in their native land, this shows that Asian does not have natural talent in understanding Human language and problem solving method, but it is a learning process made in different progress by different cultures
3 :
look at the UC colleges enrollment and tht'll answer your question. it's not about being smarter though. typical asian fmilies in America have strict rules and guidelines and put education first in the children's lives.
4 :
it's so funny, honestly most asians are soo smart and insane at video games it's crazy. but i don't mean to stereotype.
5 :
I don't know cause I was always told Germans and Cherokee Indians were always very intelligent people also.
6 :
As a whole yes its part of the culture. The parents and teachers are more strict so the kids are smarter and eventually get involved with something that makes lots of money. That's why Japan has some of the worlds best technology and why China makes everything.
7 :
It's cultural. Most people forget that Asian-Americans mostly come from generations of people who migrated to America. Very bright, very determined, very hard-working people who set their values very high. I don't think that intelligence is genetic, so Asians are not genetically smarter than other races. Anyone can have a high IQ, you just have to value your education highly.
8 :

9 :
It's all based on the way you were raised. Most Asians come from families that highly value education and the children are encouraged to study hard and do well in school. If someone comes from a home that puts an emphasis on education and getting a well paying job, they are likely to pursue that goal. Many Asian communities also have programs to help kids learn. I know my area has the CPC for the Chinese community that has volunteers to help tutor kids which helps boost grades. The more support you have along the way, the more likely you are to be successful. it's all a cultural thing, not a genetic thing.
10 :
Qwerty is wrong. Intelligence IS genetic. Please study.
11 :
Yes, but I think it's not that they were born more "intelligent" then everyone else. It's just that their parents pressure them to work harder in school. Especially if they're parents or grandparents were immigrants from Asia. Since China and other Asian countries are so populated, the students have no choice but to work hard to make it into colleges to have a good future, since there is so much competition. So since their parents were raised that way, generally they'll raise their kids that way too.

Should i feel bad if i like my bf talk dirty before/during sex?

Should i feel bad if i like my bf talk dirty before/during sex?
when he talk really dirty he always check me and tell me that i'm REALLY wet. should i feel bad? i can't control what my body does. should i feel i'm a slut because i know it's a bad word for girls and i don't want to be one? he call me all kind of bad names i don't know if he really think i'm that way in real life or he just say it to make me really wet and have the sex. i'm confused. there is something else. he gives me money almost every time we meet(even the first time he invited me to his house, he gave me money for taxi fare, but now i know how to drive to his house and he still gives me money). and we do have sex every time we meet. he put money on the nightstand sometimes even before i arrived. and everytime we meet we have A LOT of sex. that's almost the only thing we do because it takes so long so it takes away the time we do other things like talking. He also told me he visited many prostitutes in Asia(china, hongkong, singapore) where he used to work. i don't know how prostitutes work. he gave me money because i'm a student and not working right now. but he always calls me a ''whore'' during sex. should i feel bad about this? does he respect me or just want to take care of me? i hate to ask money from my parents all the time since i can't find a job now. i'm an atheist, he is lutheran catholic i think. does religion matter? **i've asked this in the wrong section, the LGBT one, i think they think i'm a gay boy,but i'm a girl. basically i LOVE the sex we have, i just don't want to feel guilty or bad. thanks for you answering.

he prolly thinks you're a prostitue. that's why he's paying you
2 :
obviously he's not your BF otherwise you would know about his life. your ignorance is showing though in this troll-ish post.... there is no such thing as lutheran catholic AND he shouldn't be having sex before marriage if he was either so..... if you are paid after sex, it's prostitution.
